Time has gone by so quickly! And I'm amassing gigantic amounts of jewellery bits and pieces without actually getting down to it yet.. Oh my.. With the blink of an eye it's already the third month of 2011! Yes yes I'm getting down to it.. but woe is my finding of time and inspiration.

Went to the Grampians early last week during the September hols. It's just north-west of Melbourne city, about 2 hours drive? It's a breezy, well-conserved place with animals, trees, and pleasant people! On Day 1 we climbed the Chautauqua Peak Loop which was a wonderously skilful climb where you needed to know your footing pretty much. One of my best climbs! Totally got me reminiscing about my wild adventures in Vietnam Sapa, also known as Home Above the Clouds. A very pretty, very in-touch-with-nature place with plenty of culture to experience. The air is cool and fresh, and pretty soon I was longing for hot food which I got! Yes I climbed the mountains there! Rice fields and crops surrounded us in the chilly weather - aboslutely out of this world!

What wouldn't I give for one of these!

So in Gramps we went to several other lookouts and to the Pinnacles on the final day. Adventurous. I honestly do prefer scaling rocks to ascending stairs, just because they're more fun to navigate. Look at this narrow path we had to take! I call it the 'One-way Lane'. We stayed at this hostel called Tim's Place which is really homey and comfy at the same time! Met Pudding, the dog of Tim's! Also loved the den they had, which was filled with comfy chairs and a large-screen TV, complete with views of the scenery! (in its background you can see the tent where I stayed at for the second night :D)

Oh! And a little surprise as to what I'll share with you soon.. but check out Operation Christmas! I JUST had to join after I heard my friend was doing it. It's so happy! Having seen some of those living conditions out there(from my trips) I would totally want to fork out a lil contribution. So those in Aussie/NZ, go ahead and make your contribution too! (deadline applies) It's only filling up a shoebox and imagine the pleasure a child will get upon receiving it! +)

Did you see what was up on the news today! Online news, that is.

That's the European Beard Judging Competition! I honestly do wonder how the judges make their choice. Is it just the looks? Or even the texture? Are they allowed to touch? Imagine the amount of styling gone into achieving a particular look!

Okay, I'm upping my determination to keep this blog going! Just a litte space to share the view of the world in my eyes, a corner to share my life, and itsy bitsy things that do matter.

We made french toast for breakfast/brunch on a fine Sunday. Goes lovely with honey! Chicken nuggets to fill up the meal.

And for now while I'm based in Melbourne, making birthday cards for friends back home is a fun thing to do. Weather's getting warmer! I can officially wear a t-shirt and shorts outdoors without feeling the chills! Just the other day we went to the lake with a mat, our books and some drinks to soak it all in. Really enjoying Melbourne's lovely people and weather, and the great art scene here! Am so tempted to visit every single food and art market all over!

Hey all!

Had a really fulfilling weekend - going to Paperrific craft convention in town and visiting the Camberwell market! The craft event was a blast! Full of friendly people, free make-and-take sessions (which made the 8bucks entry fee worth it) and plenty of art eye candy! Take a load of the pics of beauuuuuttiful art pieces I saw at the craft place! There'll be another bigger art/craft exhibit in October, so I'm really looking forward to that because it'll have other mediums (e.g. knitting) of art too! So pretty and so much passion has gone into each and every piece, do enjoy!

Hiiii everyone!

Well I've finally started school in Australia! The weather here is pretty good (it's winter now) and there's lots to do and explore! It's a great country to live in (for a while) and that kinda makes you miss the authentic charkwayteow you have right under your block! I even celebrated National Day overseas!

I'm in the process of sourcing for unique beads, hopefully from all over the world, to build up the collection and continue the blogshop with a BANG! I realized I really like creating items with my hands, as a form of expression as well as sharing the beauty of art creation with everyone!

No matter where we are at now, there is always a new beginning ahead. Thank goodness for the Internet which allows you to admire all the pretty handicrafts made by artists all around the world!

Lovely lovely earrings made brand-new for your eyes! This post might be tad belated but still! They're gorgeous, if I may say so myself and perfect for many different occasions!

With that I have an announcement to make: I will be heading overseas this week to further my studies for about a year. During this period of time, Chocolate-Carpark will come to a temporary hiatus (boo!) as I forsee that I might not have as much spare time to create. Afterall, each piece requires a great amount of time, planning and sourcing for materials once the idea pops to the mind!

However, the accessories you see ARE STILL AVAILABLE for sale and please do not hesitate to contact me for any enquiries! I will be back around mid-year 2011 and will keep this blogshop updated with hopefully, the little things in life I find interesting. Well it's been some time! I hope you find the new layout pleasant and easy to navigate because lots of time was spent doing this up with loads of help, kudos to Bryan! :D It's lovely to have such a friend to help out! Thank you!

I was drawn to the colour of the blog because it reminds me of yummy sticky chewy brown chocolate! My sweet tooth must be acting up again. Other than that, this layout has a pretty simple look with clean cut lines and everything.

I'm starting school again now, so it may be some time before I get down to posting new updates for the shop! But fret not! I still work according to moments when I get inspiration, which often strikes me when I least expect it!

Well I haven't gotten round to fixing my website yet but I'm may do a makeover once I find the time! :D It's possibly my busiest period ever now with work, so much that it limits my time to even look at my jewellery-making tools and materials. Or rather, I need inspiration to strike again.

I've just attended a play at Raffles Hotel - Don't forget to remember me. Speaking of which, the hotel is wonderful! I really dig the architecture with the tall white pillars, giant wooden window panels and just the overall look that's put together to match. It was declared a national monument in 1987, according to the website. Old buildings interest me. I might spend time thinking about what such buildings were like in the past, their purpose, the people that entered and exited, etc.

I always thought that if I wasn't in my current occupation now I might become someone more inclined in the arts, maybe something to do with fashion, history, culture, or travel? Possibilities are endless!

The play I watched also provoked thoughts in me regarding Dementia. It's not normal ageing. And it's really good that we are trying to spread the message to the public through different mediums, one of which being art. It's a refreshing way of reaching out to the masses which can be enjoyable at the same time. There was a dialogue or mini-conference after the play during which members of the audience spoke up about their experiences and thoughts regarding the disease itself and the play.

I would like to share an interesting website I came across by Ethan Hayes-Chute. I haven't really explored it fully yet but the models and landscapes do show how much imagination one can have. Well if I were that good with my hands and if I had materials or ways and means think about what one can do! :D

I used to make landscapes out of recycled materials and stuff after watching some art show on TV; that was an experience with lots of work. It's the satisfaction I get and the fun I draw from the process of making something with my hands!

Alrights now, have to get on with my work. Wish me luck in finding inspiration!

Hello!

I'm back from my mind-blowing, fabulous, heartrocking holiday in Vietnam! It was plenty of mountain air, sea views and different modes of transport we had to take! What wouldn't I do to travel again!

My uncle's girlfriend came over earlier and yay! I do appreciate comments about my products. This gives me the motivation to work even harder!

It's February!

It's been so fast since 2009 came upon us. Just a little bit of work everyday, some daydreaming and whoosh! goes January!

Updated are two brand-new necklaces! Both took me alot of work and effort especially for the design and manufacture. I was reflecting the other day (which is what I always do) and I realized keeping such a passion isn't that easy. Besides the products, there's the time and effort to count for too. Creating works brings unspeakable joy, especially when I am able to create for people I love and others who appreciate.

Helloooo everyone!

Here's the first update for the New Year! I'm proud to announce a new addition to the Chocolate-Carpark family - the RINGS section! Well I think that rings can be harder to make especially since they're smaller and it's a challenge to make something pretty on one's finger altogether.

I'll be taking a short break from 24th - 27th Jan for the CNY festival. Yay for CNY! I look forward to meeting my relatives and having a great reunion dinner! Even after the fabulously long weekend, I've still got a humongous pile of work to tackle. Onward!

Well it's almost halfway into November and I hope you guys are doing well (:

On to add something interesting to this blog today! Let's talk about DRESSES! Well for me I think The Dress is a great invention and the plus point about being a female is that we get to wear different types with different cuttings, styles, embellishments, jewels, trains, colours, forms etc! Speaking of which, there's the toga, bustier, low-v, flare and frilly, halter, lace, empire cut, kimono-style, spaghetti and lots more! Whatever it is, dresses are great for many occasions and finding a dress that screams 'ME!' feels really really good!

Now this is rather striking; the colours do stand out against each other. It's also a rather flattering cut and Eva's hair looks great!

My favourite! A beautiful black beaded long wedding dress. Formal, elegant yet feminine at the same time! And look at that hair!!

A very clean-cut dress that shows off a wonderful body shape, emphasizing on all the right points!

I realized so far I've been posting wedding/formal dresses. But I've always been fascinated by them. Fascinated by how designers can muster so much creativity to fashion different pieces that are attractive and versatile.

I'm finally done with the exams, now to hope for good results! Have been busy at work for the past two nights right after my last tests and here's the new CLASSY BLACK Collection! Expect lots of gold and black! Perfect for the night out, yet versatile enough for a casual look :)

I'm nearing my exams soon! Now this shop seems like a great outlet for me to relax and expand my creativity!

New bracelet - Love the colour of the blue! Reminds me of the waves I saw in NZ!

Just uploaded some pictures of new stuff!

I can't imagine how I'm finding all the time to do this with two presentations, two reports and one prac test next week! I'll be studying very very hard so I'll have good free time for my bling! But then again, when my inspiration strikes, it'll be such a waste to just let it be.
